Dichloromethane is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2Cl2. It is a colorless transparent liquid with an irritating smell similar to ether. It is slightly soluble in water, ethanol and ether. It is a nonflammable solvent with low boiling point under normal service conditions. When its vapor becomes high concentration in high-temperature air, it will generate a mixture of gas with weak combustion. It is often used to replace flammable petroleum ether, ether, etc.
application
1. It is used for grain fumigation and refrigeration of low-pressure freezers and air conditioning devices.
2. Used as solvent, extractant and mutagen.
3. Used in electronic industry. It is often used as cleaning and degreasing agent.
4. It is used as a dental local anesthetic, refrigerant, fire extinguishing agent, degreasing agent and film remover for cleaning metal surface paint.
5. Used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
Protective measures
Respiratory protection: when the concentration in the air exceeds the standard, you should wear a direct gas mask (half mask). Wear air respirator during emergency rescue or evacuation. Eye protection: wear chemical safety glasses when necessary. Body protection: wear protective clothing against poison penetration. Hand protection: wear chemical resistant gloves. Others: smoking, eating and drinking are prohibited at the work site. Shower and change clothes after work. Store contaminated clothes separately and use them for standby after washing. Pay attention to personal hygiene.
